Quick Bites: Rhumbar, Hearthstone, Tacos & Tamales fest and more Vegas food news

Mirage cocktail spot Rhumbar is set to reopen on April 20 after a redesign by Basile Studio transitioning the Strip-side venue in an ultralounge with a new bar program, a new food menu, nightly entertainment and a cigar selection. Rhumbar will be open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. until midnight, and Friday and Saturday from noon until 2 a.m.

Strip Vietnamese favorite Pho has reopened at Treasure Island. Located within the Coffee Shop at TI, the eatery is open Wednesday through Sunday from 5 until 10 p.m.

Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar at Red Rock Resort has unveiled new dishes for spring from new executive chef Donald Thompson. Among the seasonally inspired offerings are roasted beet salad with honey yogurt goat cheese, roasted Scottish salmon with steamed vegetables, and a 32-ounce aged tomahawk steak with garlic mashed potatoes and truffle jus. Thompson joined the Hearthstone team in January and has previously served in the kitchen at Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace.

Jaleo at the Cosmopolitan will host its annual Gin & Tonic Festival April 18 through May 1, a limited-time menu offering special bites that pair with select versions of the classic cocktail. The three dishes are priced at $5-$10, while the three drinks cost $20 each or can be sampled via the Festival Flight for $40.

The Tacos & Tamales Festival returns to Desert Breeze Park on April 30 from noon until 8 p.m. In addition to lots of food and drinks, the event will feature family entertainment including Lucha Libre wrestling, live music, an art area, carnival games and more. Tickets are $5 in advance or $10 at the door, with more information is available at tacosandtamaleslv.com.

Wally’s Wine & Spirits and Resorts World will host their first Tequila & Mezcal Festival on May 14 at the Rose Rooftop space, showcasing the world’s best agave spirits from small, independent distillers to award-winning international brands. General admission tickets are $100 and VIP tickets are $200. In addition to tastings, the event will include a DJ, Mexican-inspired creations from various Resorts World restaurants and more. The UnCommons complex has announced another restaurant concept set to join the development this summer. Todo Bien, a 1,300-square-foot tiki bar and tequileria, will offer “picturesque cocktails made by expert mixologists and a vibrant setting,” according to a statement from developer Matter Real Estate Group.
