Slander at XS Imagine trap music with the swells, melodies and builds of trance. That’s the specialty of LA producer/DJ duo Slander (Derek Andersen and Scott Land), which calls its particular aesthetic “heaven trap.” Andersen explains to YourEDM that “it’s a synonym for euphoria. Wednesdays Downtown at Fremont East Entertainment District The midweek barhop has returned for the month of October, complete with food trucks, painting classes, a silent disco (where everyone grooves to what’s coming out of their headphones), a bartending competition, a happy hour—and barricades that allow pedestrians to take over Fremont Street between Las Vegas Boulevard and Seventh Street. Sounds like First Friday minus the “riffraff” (and the traffic). October 22, 6 p.m.-midnight.
