Palo Verde football practice | August 18, 2014 | 7:36 A.M.
Always at the top of the local football charts, Palo Verde is not only impressive to watch, but impressive in its winning consistency over the years. And what makes the team good is the reason I do not like to photograph it: coach Darwin Rost’s double wing offense. In a nutshell, it usually involves some deception and a quick little pitch to a player who tucks in behind a wall of teammates. I have a terrible time trying to follow the person with the ball because I never know who has it. So, from a photographic point of view, it was a nice change to shoot the Panthers during their first official practice of the season. At least I could tell what was going on.
