Three things you should know about Life Is Beautiful’s beverage program

The Dutch Mule—made with Ketel One Citroen—is just a small part of Life Is Beautiful’s 55-cocktail program.

1. There are 55 specialty cocktails unique to the festival. Part of what makes Life Is Beautiful stand out among other fests is its ambitious F&B program—in particular, its staggering 55-cocktail menu. Among them: a Dutch Mule variation that shares a name with the event and finds a purpose for Ketel One Citroen.

2. The ales do not pale. At LIB, you can pass on music-fest-standard Heineken and opt for Dos Equis—both in lager and the underrated amber form. Over at the grass-comfy beer garden, choice offerings abound for the hopheads (Ballast Point Sculpin IPA), sophisticates (Stiegl Grapefruit Radler), local supporters (Tenaya Creek 702 Pale Ale) and, um, Texans (Shiner Bock).

3. Pair that rock ’n’ roll with some wine. Everything—even an onstage Kanye West tantrum—goes better with a glass of vino. Several brands and varietals will be made available at various sections of the festival, noteworthy among them Rombauer (merlot, chardonnay), Chalk Hill Sonoma Coast (pinot noir, chardonnay) and Prisoner Red Blend.
